I am dedicated to selling your home, farm, acreage or finding you
that dream property you are searching for. You are invited to browse my website
and call or email me with any questions you have about buying or selling
a home in the area
I grew up on a farm, lived and went to NAIT in Edmonton and currently
live on an acreage close to Thorsby. My rural background, business experience
and life path have given me tons of experience in a variety of different
areas. I am very familiar with drilled wells, sewer systems, land types,
buildings, and most things associated with rural properties. I have been
in business since 1986 and have had excellent training to help you with
any commercial needs. After high school I was employed with a lumber company
and worked for several construction people so I am very familiar with building
practices and methods. There may be things I don't know but I promise you
a willingness to find the answers you need using good common sense.
My family has been in the Thorsby area for three generations and my children
will be the fourth. This community has been our home and I have been actively
involved in making it stronger. Since 1986, I have purchased 4-H animals
and supported the 4-H program every year. When I was a member of the Agricultural
Society, I helped to secure several grants that allowed us to build a beautiful
indoor arena, barns and other equine equipment. My love for sports led
me to compete in baseball, football, hockey and even team roping and other
rodeo events. I founded and started the Thorsby Haymakers Rodeo.
I was also very involved in minor hockey in Thorsby. Coaching and being on the executive kept me very busy. I applied for and received the first NHLPA goals and dreams grant in Alberta. With provincial government grants and our own fund raising this allowed us to purchase new arena boards and a new Zamboni. When our sons moved to Leduc to play on more competitive teams, I followed along coaching Pee Wee AA and Bantam AAA. I still volunteer with the Leduc junior Athletic Club and the Leduc Riggers Hockey Club. For my efforts as a volunteer I was nominated in 2010 for a provincial volunteer recognition award. I was notified by the Minister of Tourism Parks and Recreation that I was one of 4 people chosen annually to receive this award. In October 2010 I was presented the Recreation Volunteer Recognition Award at a ceremony in Jasper. This is something I will always be proud of.
Time has passed and I don't compete like I used to but my passion for sports has
carried on to my children. My oldest son Brandon is playing hockey for Leduc Junior B Riggers and is playing fastball in Leduc as well. In 2010 he also played for a midget team that won provincials and represented Alberta at Fastball Nationals in Stratford Ontario. In the past he has played in Northern Alberta Allstars and Team Brick of Edmonton.
My youngest son Carson plays with Leduc Junior Athletic Club AAA hockey
and has also competed with Northern Alberta Allstars and Team Brick. Through
our sports we have traveled from Vancouver to Halifax and this association
has been great for our family. My daughter now plays girls Bantam AAA hockey in St. Albert. In 2010 she played in Leduc and I had coached. We were very fortunate and had a great year. We won some tournaments, were league champions and won girls Bantam A provincials which we hosted in Leduc. Kaylyn also plays fastball and has a real love for horses. She has started barrel racing and team roping. We have made a tremendous group of friends traveling with
our kids and my wife and I enjoy every minute of it.
My business experience has been very diverse. I have owned 3 NAPA auto
parts stores, one in Thorsby, one in Wetaskiwin and the other in Breton.
My association with the auto parts business has been since 1981. I have
been a dealer for Radio Shack, Star Choice, Pop Shoppe, Boc Welding Product.
Exmark and Husqvarna Lawn and Garden. Each of these lines have have given
me more experience to pass on to my real estate clients. When I offer advice
it is usually because I have experience in that specific area.
I have been a licensed realtor for over 9 years and have developed my
own unique approach to doing real estate. I MAKE IT SIMPLE AND EASY. My favourite saying is “it’s
your land” or “it’s your money” and I will treat
you that way. I will make recommendations and give advice, but at
the end of the day you will not be forced into doing anything you are not
comfortable with. I will be extremely honest and up front with you
in all our dealings. I have an excellent reputation in this industry
and my trading area. I want to keep it that way. I have attained
several awards including Top 100 in Canada and Top 5 in the Alberta Capital
Region. Hard work, efficiency, good help and a proven system make
it simple to get the job done right. My outlook is always positive,
and I make Real Estate Buying or Selling easy.
